Consensual is a mesmerizing and highly intense novel that will take your breath away..

Livia Jamerlan has written one of the best books of the year!!!

There are many great things about Consensual and I will try to sum them up for you..

First of all, we have unexpected dual POV throughout the book. They aren’t entwined with each other and not all of them describe different scenes. Some are new scenes and some are umm not new..I loved that it was unexpected and unpredictable. Every time I saw that beautiful name Haas as a header, I was equally surprised and thrilled!

Second of all, we met so many characters in just one book! There were few times that it felt too much, but its rarity beat that. There aren’t usually so many characters in the first book, so I found it intense, little overwhelming but also refreshing and a beautiful change.

Third of all, I really really liked Braelynn. She is a strong, independent, hardworking and brave young woman. There is nothing easy about her life, but she made it! She survived and came through as a freaking warrior, not just a survivor. She is smart and fun and sensitive.

Most of the time, I liked her friends Kennedy and Gus,too. But, I really disliked them at the turning point towards the end. Sometimes, you need your friends to tell you that you’re wrong, that you’ve made a mistake etc. However, Braelynn is not a person who needs that. She has an extraordinary ability to know herself and to distinguish right from wrong. She needs support and love; not bickering and lectures. As the book was coming to the end, I disliked them even more. All the tragedies and the assholes I had to read about really truly made my blood boil, and their behaviour was just the tip of the iceberg for me.

Needless to say, the book left me immensely frustrated and agitated. In a good way..

Regarding Haas, I can honestly say that I liked him, I respected him, I admired him, but there were times that I need to slap and kick him! I am not giving any spoilers in this book, because it handles sensitive matters and because it has so many twists that you don’t need any teasers to make your head spin even more! However, there was one time that really made me wanna scream. When you are told that someone must have raped a woman, under no abso-freaking-lutely circumstance you say “So what if he did?”. I don’t care if you’re mad or afraid of the person in front of you getting hurt due to this revelation. You do not respond this way. I was really disappointed at that moment, because Haas is not this asshole man. He is a good man with a golden heart and a bright mind. He isn’t the insensitive jerk who says those monstrosities. That point really left me reeling. I couldn’t fathom it. So there’s that…Some other reactions of his were unexpected, but I guess it’s the Consensual way!!

Beyond that, I admired Haas; he is a strong and strong-minded man who followed his dreams and succeeded.

Livia’s writing is beautiful and her story is solid, intriguing and full of twists and unexpected and unpredictable turns!

So, 4.5 Magnificent Stars are going to Consensual!

Note
Pray to the stars that Livia will release the second book, before we go out of our minds!

 Excerpt:

I tucked the New York Times under my arm as I headed to the door. I didn’t plan to say hi, but I could see her friend walking toward the restroom out of the corner of my eye. There was no way I was passing up this opportunity. I turned and headed for her table.
She was so preoccupied reading her file that she didn’t notice when I sat down. I sat there for a few seconds and admired her blonde hair tucked behind her ears before I cleared my throat. “So do I need to wait in line or take a number?”
She slammed the file shut, snapping her head in my direction. “Peyton,” she whispered.
“Last night you were in the arms of a different man.” I brought my hand to my chest to make a point. “I got to fuck you in the conference room.” I pointed back toward the bathroom. “Is he the one you bring home to your mother?”
Her face turned crimson. “Haas …”
“Let me make myself clear. One. Last. Time. I don’t fucking share, and I sure as hell don’t play well with others. What’s mine is mine. So knock it the fuck off before I take you over my fucking knee.” She gaped at me and I pressed on, keeping my voice low so only she could hear. “You know you want to be mine. If you’d stop playing hard to get, I’d show you how to come in so many different ways you’d be numb for days.”
She slammed the manila folder on the table. Then, rising from her seat, she braced her hands on the table. “Let me make myself clear. I. Am. Not. Yours.To.Claim.”
I rose so we were face to face. Cupping her jaw with my hand, I rubbed my thumb along her lower lip. Her rapid heartbeat pulsed under my finger that lay on her throat, letting me know her defensiveness was a front. “Sweetness, that’s not what your body said last night. You’re mine.”
I removed my hand and turned toward the exit. I was an alpha dog marking his territory. Douchebag may have made her smile, but I was the one who made her squirm with desire.

Livia Jamerlan is a hopeless romantic she is always looking for her next love story to pop in her head. Though Livia kept a journal throughout her early life, she never thought about pursuing a career in writing, she always used it as form of therapy, pouring her heart out into words. It wasn’t until a story developed in her head that she decided that maybe she could write a book. At first it was just an escape from reality but now she use it as a power to put all her feelings, hopes, and fears on paper. Deciding it was time to tell her story she began to write, with each passing day the story grew, characters we formed, and what seemed like a hobby at first has now become a passion for Livia.

When Livia is not writing she is spending time with her husband and their two dogs, she might also be curled up with a new book, or she is out traveling the country to support indie authors at their book signings.

Topic : " The question every female reader has difficulty to answer. Biker, rock star, businessman or fighter? What do you think of this dilemma? Are you able to pick one?" (No offense to your man..xoxo)

If I could choose I would have all four because that is the only way to solve the problem.

Though, there is something about a man in a suit that drives me wild.
Maybe it’s because I had Haas speaking in my head for the past ten months.

But, a rock star that can sing will always have my heart.
Maybe it’s because Kellan Kyle was my first book boyfriend.
